You are the Teacher’s Aide, But!
What you teach your teen should agree with what is taught by the driving school instructor.
If you teach something other than the driving school instructor, Your teen will be confused and have a more difficult time learning to drive. If your teen insists that your instructions are different from the instructors, contact the instructor to be sure you are correct.

According to 2010 California Driver Handbook.
The OL 392 form for enrolling in driver training has been eliminated. NOW the teen 15 1/2 to 17 1/2 and under can go to the DMV to take their written test with their Completion of Driver Education Certificate (OL 237) and other documents.
WARNING!!!
The provisional permit is NOT VALIDATED until you start your BEHIND-THE-WHEEL training with a licensed driving school instructor or reach the age of 17 1/2 or older.
